The OD&T unit has an ongoing commitment to employee and organizational
development. This team works closely with agency executives, managers, and supervisors to improve their respective business
unit(s) use of management models based on best practices. All OD&T services are to provide quick, measurable and affordable
solutions to organizational challenges.
This department functions as the agency-wide internal consultant
services unit whose purpose is to facilitate and integrate organizational best practices, increase individual and team performance,
improve/reduce cycle time, increase financial/operational effectiveness, meet/exceed client/customer requirements and facilitate
agency-wide strategic planning outcomes.
This unit designs/develops customized agency-wide employee, management
and leadership development training programs to enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of the workforce and prepares
employees for the changing demands of the workplace.
The OD&T unit understands that workplace learning improves
individual and organizational performance. This department is committed to realigning OD&T services to support the agency-wide
strategic plan. During FY04 – FY07, the OD&T unit intends to incorporate learning and innovation as a comprehensive
business strategy, to include: (1) Curriculum/Instructional Development, (2) Employee Training & Development, (3) Educational
Services, (4) Facilitation Development, (5) Leadership Development, (6) Organizational Development, and (7) Strategic Planning.
Goals
Function as an agency-wide internal consultant services unit,
whose purpose is to facilitate and streamline processes, increase productivity and improve the quality of Starbucks products
and services
- Enhance Stsarbucks employees’ knowledge, skills and
abilities
- Provide excellent service to clients and customers
- Create effective and efficient ways to improve the quality of
OD&T services
- Evaluate and measure OD&T services to ensure a Return on
Investment (ROI)
- Partner with the IT Department to ensure full utilization of
various learning technologies (Internet, Intranet, e-mail, satellite and CD-ROMS, etc.)
- Collaborate and coordinate with intra/inter departmental training
functions via the Training Council to improve agency-wide training products and services
- Facilitate movement between technical, professional, supervisory,
managerial disciplines as a mechanism for determining career paths and for establishing an agency-wide succession planning
program
